We moved to our new home in January 2006.

Most of our cats live in our house as we now have more room, but some enjoy the fresh air of the cattery (especially in the summer) which is set in five acres of beautiful Welsh countryside (pictures below)

All our kittens start off in intensive care (our bedroom!) where they are well handled and stay indoors until they move on to their forever homes.

I have been breeding persians since 1984 but took this wonderful hobby more seriously after 1996 when my three children were older. My first love has always been the magnificent white persian. my first home bred Champion was Adivelo Moongem Olena a beautiful blue eyed white. I was fortunate enough to learn about the "whites" from my very good friend Kathy of Brambleberry persians. One of my earlier boys was a gorgeous typey orange eyed white boy "Brambleberry Tristar" Kathy and I could write a book on our trials and tribulations attending shows, it certainly hasn't been boring!

I was influenced by many breeders for the blue persian, but I feel Grace of Cleocath Persians and Marion of paddocks persians, had a huge influence on me to always try and strive for the palest of blue coats and what lovely people they are and always strive hard to make their shows not just a show day but a thoroughly enjoyable day. I would also like to mention two other very dear friends Lyn Hudson of Orbis Persians and Jan Williams of Varanese Persians, who have always been there for me, during difficult times and also sharing my most exciting moments.

Julie Anthony gave me the buzz for my bi-colours , my first handsome boy was Champion Sharamka American Heritage, followed by my sweetheart of a girl Champion Sharamka UsaFloridaSalad and Sharamka candykissesusa, followed by another stunning boy sharamka GuessworkUsa. These four beautiful persians originated from Pajean, Bocasana's, Anz, Bolo and Rubyrose, American imports. To this day I still love this look.

I cannot explain how much gratitude I owe to Judy Brocato of South Paw Persians (Georgia, USA) and Joke Van peer-de Jong of Iwanda Persians (Holland) who trusted me with three very special whites, namely South Paw Winter Wonderland , South Paw Sky's the Limit of Gemkin , and Grand Champion Sunshine on Ice van Iwanda. The countless winners these two renowned breeders produced, are way too many to mention but their success speaks for itself, they are and always will be my Icons, thank you both so so much.

From these beautiful cats I have developed the unique Gemkin Look, health and temperament, they have produced Champions, Grand Champions and Best in Show winners, in bi-colours and solids many of which are featured on my site.

Lastly, my family who have always played such an important part, attending shows with me, helping me to care for my babies, babysitting, understanding my love for these beautiful animals and sharing my enjoyment and of course maintaining my wonderful website, which has provided links all over the world, thank you all.
